What is a Commercial EPC
A Commercial EPC records how energy efficient a property is as a building and provides a rating between A-G. It assesses the efficiency of the building fabric, and the installed heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and lighting systems.
When is a Commercial EPC Required?
-
If you are selling, renting or building commercial property, you need a Commercial EPC.
-
A building under construction is finished
-
There are changes to the number of parts used for separate occupation and these changes involve providing or extending fixed heating, air conditioning or mechanical ventilation systems.
From April 2018 onwards, in order to put a property on the market to rent or for sale, all landlords across the UK must ensure their properties have an Energy Performance Certificate rated E or above. This is so properties are in compliance with the new minimum Energy Efficiency Standards.
